This is a personal opinion countered by the seeming commercial success of these graphic novels. No doubt the graphics are excellent but in addition to ruining my own personal vision of the particular characters - these seem to have quite ugly facial and physical features. Um, its a hardback comic with a fancy name resplendent with its own sound bubbles such as "ungh", "thrack" and "krraacck. I have never read one before so what better entrance to this new medium than one based on a story by one of my favourite authors. And that's how I came across this graphic novel.

C2015: Totally depressed after reading the 'Windlass' book, I was hunting around the local library catalogue (not illustrated) to find something of Mr Butcher's that I have not read.
